As the founder of Inland Empire Repair (IER), I’ve often encountered situations where I needed a minor repair or a simple installation, like fixing a small hose behind the toilet. Traditionally, I had three options: hiring someone, relying on home insurance, or doing it myself. However, hiring someone can be costly, and home insurance typically charges around $60 just for a technician to visit, with additional costs for anything not covered, easily totaling $120 for a quick, ten-minute fix. This can be incredibly frustrating, as it was for me.

At IER, our mission is different. We prioritize charging affordable prices and ensuring the job is done right, rather than focusing solely on profit or speed. We aim to provide a cost-effective solution for your repair needs, making it easier and less stressful for you.

Getting the job done right requires practice and experience, and both take time and inevitably involve mistakes—expenses that are often passed on to you with most hired services. At Inland Empire Repair (IER), we pride ourselves on offering high-quality services backed by extensive experience, yet at an affordable price. Our goal is to minimize your stress so you don’t have to sweat the small stuff. Inland Empire Repair provides expert handyman services to keep your house running smoothly, allowing you to focus on what matters most.

Our founder and main technician has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. His journey began as a young boy, assisting in hanging cabinets and laying tile, and has since evolved to include managing projects for local businesses. This wealth of experience encompasses a broad range of skills, including carpentry, concrete work, tile installation, framing, plumbing, drywall, and more. This diverse expertise ensures that we can handle a variety of repair and maintenance tasks with proficiency and care.

Another significant cost in repairs is licensing. In California, becoming a licensed contractor requires considerable field experience, passing a state-administered test, obtaining insurance, and paying annual renewal fees. These costs are inevitably passed down to the customer, making repairs more expensive. At IER, we have chosen not to obtain a contractor license to reduce costs for our clients. While this decision limits us to jobs under $500, it allows us to provide affordable home repairs without compromising on quality. The California Department of Consumer Affairs Contractors State License Board (CSLB) limits unlicensed work to less than $500, including both materials and labor. Any work valued at $500 or more requires a valid contractor license.

Our program aims to offer skilled domestic repair services without the high costs associated with licensed professionals. We recognize the need for accessible and affordable repair solutions, and we are committed to meeting this demand. For larger jobs that exceed the $500 limit, we partner with licensed contractors to ensure that all aspects of the project are handled legally and professionally. This collaboration allows us to offer a comprehensive range of services while maintaining cost-effectiveness for our clients.

Understanding the credit system

Depending on the plan you choose will determine on how many credits are available to you. Each credit represents an hour of labor at a discounted rate. The credits must be scheduled in advance.  Normal business hours are from 6am to 4pm Monday through Friday, and 7am -12pm on Saturday. If scheduling outside of my regular hours (Monday to Friday), additional charges apply: $20 for appointments between 4-8pm and $50 for appointments between 8-10pm. These charges ensure flexibility in accommodating your scheduling needs beyond standard operating hours, maintaining our commitment to timely and convenient service delivery.

If you are not under the subscriptions plan

The work is handled as it comes in, and is charged our standard rate at $60/HR. scheduling is normally scheduled for the next upcoming week in our normal working hours. Normal business hours are from 6am to 4pm Monday through Friday, with Saturday only being available to subscribers.

 

scheduling is run through google workspace. Upon scheduling you will receive a link confirming the time. you will have the opportunity to save it to your calendar. 

Life is random and hard to plan for, things will come up. There is no cancelation fee and you will not loose a credit as long as you cancel 24 hours before your appointment.

However, if you need to cancel same day, there will be a loss of 1 credit, even if the job was going to use more than one. 

The credits represent an hour of time, most jobs are approximately an hour, but sometimes are bigger than that and require more time. Before the arrival of the tech, we will review the scope of the job and quote how much time it is expected to take so that you have the option of using multiple credits, or making the job smaller.

In the event that the job goes over less than 10 minuets there will be no extra cost passed to the client subscriber. 

It will be charged at the same rate as non-subscribers. Normal rate is set at 60/HR plus any additional costs. An invoice will be issued along with a Stripe payment request at the end of the day.

Any jobs that require more than one day will still be divided day by day to keep within the 500$ limit.

Definitely! We can make a custom plan to accommodate your needs. By clicking the button below or going over to our pricing page you can click on the custom package. 

There are limitations on locations and the amount of credits, but just get in contact with us and we can work with you!

There are different plans for multiple properties, it is designed for property managers and renters alike!

All the services that are guaranteed are listed in the services page. If it isn’t listed on the services page, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t provided, you just to reach out to us!

appointments are normally booked a week in advance, but being on the subscription will allow for next day scheduling providing its available. you can book appointments out up to a month if you are looking to preplan work being done. booked out appointments can be canceled the same as other appointments. There is no cancelation fee and you will not loose a credit as long as you cancel 24 hours before your appointment.

This is completely the clients discretion. Pictures will be taken before and after showing the progress of the job. If we are using text to communicate, the updates will follow along with the progress of the job. if we are using work orders, the progress will be summitted with the Invoice at the end of the day.

We encourage the Client to perches their own supplies, so that it suits their style and and they are aware of what’s going in to the project. However,  if you need us to pick up the supplies and bring them over, anything under $5 for minor repairs will not be charged, but there will be a small service charge and an invoice laying out what was purchased from where sent the same day for anything over the minor repair limit.

Any additional supply fees that total less than $5 will not be added to the bill, this includes hardware, caulking, or even a new plug or lightswitch but is limited to basic running fees. (checks are not an accepted form of payment). For example, if a section of baseboard needs to be replaced, and there is no replacement present, then the purchase of a full 8’ to 16’ piece of baseboard will be made and used. The remaining can be left with the client, or taken back with the employee at the client’s discretion, but the client will need to reimburse the full price of the molding.
